Which ETFs have the highest dividend yield?

The highest-yield ETFs are often concentrated or use options/credit exposure; focus on sustainability, not just yield.

February 17, 2026

ETFs with the highest dividend yields are usually not the same as "best income" ETFs. Extremely high yields often come from riskier underlying assets (like high-yield credit, emerging-market debt, or certain equity sectors) or from option-income strategies (like covered calls) that generate premiums.

When comparing high-yield ETFs, check what's driving the payout: dividends, bond interest, option premium, or return of capital. Also look at total return, drawdowns, and whether the distribution has been stable over time.

If your goal is reliable income, a slightly lower yield from a higher-quality portfolio can be healthier long-term than chasing the biggest number. Yield is a starting point, not the decision.
