What is a dividend calendar for ETFs?
It's the schedule of ex-dividend, record, and pay dates that determines who receives an ETF distribution and when.
February 17, 2026
An ETF dividend calendar refers to the key dates around distributions: the ex-dividend date (when buyers no longer get the upcoming payout), the record date, and the pay date.
If you own the ETF before the ex-dividend date and hold through it, you typically receive the distribution. If you buy on or after the ex-dividend date, you generally won't.
For planning, it's useful to check the issuer's distribution announcements. Just be cautious about "dividend capture" tactics: the ETF price typically adjusts around distributions, so it's rarely free money.
