Can I buy ETFs on Saturday?

You usually can’t execute ETF trades on Saturday because US markets are closed, but you can place orders that queue for the next session.

February 17, 2026

For US-listed ETFs, trading generally follows US stock market hours, which are Monday to Friday, and closed on weekends.

What you can do on Saturday:

Place an order (depending on your broker), which will typically execute when the market reopens.

Set a limit order so you control the maximum price you’re willing to pay (execution isn’t guaranteed).

If you’re trading outside the US or using certain overnight/alternative sessions, availability can differ, but for standard US ETFs: Saturday execution is generally a no.
